Pure Ponds and Aquatics is run by David Runiff. Launched in August 2024 it has quickly established a loyal customer base who appreciate enjoying their ponds and aquariums without having to manage the maintenance.

Based out of Bungay, Suffolk Pure Ponds and Aquatics are ideally placed to cover both Norfolk and Suffolk or beyond (depending on the size of the project/maintenance required).

Our Story

Pure Ponds and Aquatics was born from a love of all things fishy and aquatic for David. Raised in Bungay, Suffolk, David started fishing from a young age and apart from a brief hiatus in the mountains continues to do so 30 years on having spent several decades fishing at Broome Pits, Weybread Lakes and other venues.

David is so passionate about fish that he introduced them to the household in the form of a small aquarium, quickly upgrading to bigger and bigger aquariums through the years. With many memorable fish throughout the years including ‘Parker’ his first Betta Fish (also known as a Siamese fighting fish) and ‘Pan’ the Green Phantom Plec.

It soon turned out that having fish in the house was not enough, and first, a small pond in the front garden was built, followed by a much larger pond in the back garden. Housing fish such as Koi’s Sideshow Bob, Cruella, and Bluey the Butterfly Koi.

Please note – all fish were named by David’s long-suffering wife who is not half as enthusiastic about fish as he is and fully expects a time when he will have dug up the back garden to build a fishing lake…
